As conditions remain ripe, three brush fires were reported in the county on Wednesday.
The first was one at 1:31 yesterday morning in Cherryhill Township that brought township firefighters out to Chestnut Ridge Road. The second was at 9:50 AM on South Harmony Road in Cherryhill Township, and again, local first responders were called out.
The third fire was in Cherry Tree Borough at 4:41 PM. Cherry Tree Fire Department was called to Clarion Road.
This brings the total number of brush fires for the year up to 51. The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has Indiana County in a high fire risk designation. Locally, Ernest Borough has a burn ban in place, and Cherryhill Township firefighters have asked people not to burn. No other burn bans are in place as of right now.
