Despite some rainfall in some areas late Wednesday evening, conditions are still ripe for wildfires in Pennsylvania. With this in mind, the Keystone Wildlife Crew has issued a Red Flag Warning until 6 o’clock tonight.
This warning means critical fire weather conditions are occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures have created “explosive fire growth potential,” according to a post on the group’s Facebook page.
Residents are asked not to burn today as there is a heightened risk of wildfires. This is especially true in Indiana County, which has seen five brush fires since Tuesday. As of now, 51 brush fires were reported this year in the area.
