Pitt introduced its new athletic director, Allen Greene, yesterday, and he said he’s already at work getting to know the university and the challenges the Panthers are facing.
Greene says he is studying the books to get a grip on finances. He’s worked in athletics administrations at Auburn, Buffalo, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, and Tennessee, including a stint as AD for Auburn.
Basketball coach Jeff Capel served on the advisory committee assisting in the search for a new athletic director to replace Heather Lyke. He says Greene’s biggest chore is finding money, especially NIL money that will enable Pitt to attract and keep athletes.
