On Monday night, the Indiana School Board approved an agreement for a new phone system that will save the district a lot of money.
The new system with Full Service Network will replace all district landline phones and provide phone service at an estimated cost of $3000 a month, which includes rental of the phone equipment and service. Superintendent Robert Heinrich said that this will be a significant monthly savings, as the current plan costs the district between $10,000 and $15,000 a month.
Heinrich also mentioned that the district did have a problem with a potential scam. He said that someone stole a check from the district, forged it and tried to cash it, but the district did not lose any money over it.
The board also approved a change order for an additional $14,296.80 for canopy changes in the entranceways for Eisenhower Elementary, and an agreement with PEMCO Furniture with an estimated amount of $488.445.61 for the furniture needs of Eisenhower.
