Pennsylvania’s Secretary for the Department of Human Services will provide the keynote address at the third annual Pennsylvania Mountains Rural Health Conference later this month.
Secretary Dr. Valerie Arkoosh will be part of the 2024 conference at the KCAC on November 21, which happens to be National Rural Health Day. The theme for this year’s event is “Cultivating Wellness – Advancing Rural Mental Health Awareness, Research, Services and Careers.” In a statement, Arkoosh said she is looking forward to joining the conference to “learn together and grow new relationships and collaboration to strengthen health care for Pennsylvanians in our rural communities.”
Opening remarks will be provided by IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll, State Senator Joe Pittman and State Representative Jim Struzzi, and at the end of the day, the conference will close with the presentation of the inaugural Unsung Mental Health Champions in the Region award.
The conference will run from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Additional details can be found at www.pmrhc.org
