Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate race is still too close call.
Democratic incumbent Senator Bob Casey is locked in a razor-thin race with Republican businessman Dave McCormick. McCormick has the narrow lead, but Casey’s campaign says there’s no winner yet, as officials still count ballots. If the margin is one-half-of-one-percent or less when all the votes are counted, there will be an automatic recount.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer prohibited McCormick from participating in Senate orientation yesterday, as he also believes the race is still far from finished. The Associated Press projected McCormick would beat Casey, but the latter has yet to concede, and there are still thousands of ballots left to be counted. As of 4 o’clock Sunday, McCormick led Casey by more than 39,000 votes, and McCormick recently told Fox News that Casey is “going to have to decide when he’s willing to acknowledge that.”
McCormick has gone on record to say he believes there’s no way Casey can gain enough votes to overtake his lead in the election.
