Two people from Westmoreland County face charges connected with a fuel theft in White Township.
State police say the theft happened at 1:14 last Thursday morning when D&G Sunoco at the intersection of 6th Street Extension and Lucerne Road was closed. Two vehicles were seen pumping fuel from an underground holding tank into fuel bladders and a 55-gallon drum in the vehicles. Both suspects 58-year-old Edward Stevens of Latrobe and 66-year old William Stevens, were taken into custody.
William was issued a non-traffic citation by District Judge Tony Sottile’s office charging him with summary retail theft. Edward, who has a history of theft, was charged with felony theft and two summary vehicle-related charges. He is free on $1000 bond and has a preliminary hearing set for November 21st.
