Pennsylvania voters returned a Republican majority to the state Senate in this month’s General Election with a healthy mix of incumbents and new Senators to Harrisburg.
Among those re-elected were President Pro Tempore Kim Ward and Majority Leader Joe Pittman. Newcomers include Dawn Keefer in the 31st District in York and Cumberland Counties, and Joe Picozzi in the 5th District, which covers a portion of Philadelphia.
Pittman called the Senatorial red wave “an historic and exciting time” for Pennsylvania and the entire nation. He adds that his fellow Senators are seeing a “renewed embrace” of policies and principals to strengthen families and forge a promising and prosperous future.
Pittman promises steadfast movement in the Senate’s work to empower Pennsylvanians by “standing against executive and judicial overreach, rejecting Democrats’ massive tax increases, and ensuring the fundamental rights of our Commonwealth’s citizens remain safely guarded.”
The Senate returns to Session in Harrisburg today at one o’clock.
