A portion of Waterworks Road in White Township will close at times today as crews work on a section of the road affected by a landslide under the pavement.
White Township’s designated contractor Bison Construction Company along with Douglas Pike crews will install some sheet metal pilings that are meant to halt the subsidence that caused some cracks and shifting of pavement along a 140-foot stretch of road just East of Lower Twolick Road.
As cranes and heavy equipment are needed to affect the repairs, the road will be closed at times. The closures will run from 8-noon, 12:30-3:00 and 3:20-5:00. The piling installation phase of the work is expected to be finished in about a week. After that, Bison will restore the road base, install stormwater drains, rebuild the subgrade and resurface the road to wrap things up.
All work is weather dependent.
