A Commodore man will be sentenced today in Indiana County Court in connection with a case where he was charged with child pornography possession.
Court documents show 29-year-old Austin Troy Bingaman was facing 49 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communications facility for an investigation that started on January 1st of 2022. In March of this year, agents with the State Attorney General’s office conducted a search at his home on Hancock Street and discovered the explicit images on his phone. On August 2nd, Bingaman pleaded guilty to 15 counts of child pornography possession, while the other counts were not prosecuted.
Also scheduled for sentencing this morning is James William Taylor of McGrann in Armstrong County. The hearings will be for two separate cases where he was accused of operating a meth lab on June 22nd of 2021 and August 23rd of 2022. In both cases, he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a precursory substance.
