The Basketball version of the Backyard Brawl belongs to Pitt as they took down WVU 86-62 at the Petersen Events Center last night.
Damian Dunn lead the Panthers in the scorebook with 23 points, and three other panthers in double-digits. Probably one of the bigger stories happened at the start of the game, as Guillermo Diaz Graham was hit in the mouth just 34 seconds in as he tried to block a shot from WVU’s Armani Hansberry. He went to the locker room, had two stitches put in his mouth and returned to play with a controlled vengeance, hitting a 3-pointer and grabbing a rebound in his first minute back on the floor. Diaz Graham had a double-double with 10 points and 10 boards.
The Panthers play next Monday night against VMI.
