Downtown Indiana began its transition into the holiday season Monday morning with the arrival of the town’s Christmas tree.
The 35-foot Caanan Fir was delivered from Emar Acres Farm in Saltsburg to IRMC Park shortly before 10 o’clock with the help of the Indiana County Tourist Bureau, the Christmas Tree Growers’ Association, and Don Huey Custom Building and Remodeling.

Laura Herrington with the Tourist Bureau says the arrival of the tree adds to the holiday atmosphere in Indiana.
Greg Van Horn with the Christmas Tree Growers’ Association talked about the local roots with this year’s tree.
Crews will decorate the tree throughout the week, finalizing it in time for Friday’s “It’s A Wonderful Life Holiday Festival.” Things start with the tree lighting at 6:30 and the annual holiday parade will follow.
You can watch both events on Renda Digital TV.
