IUP SIGNS FOUR CLINICAL AFFILIATION AGREEMENTS FOR PROPOSED COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE

Four health care providers entered into clinical affiliation agreements with IUP for their proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine on Thursday.

At the Pennsylvania Mountains Rural Health Conference, IUP received agreements from Broad Top Area Medical Center, Hyndman Area Health Centers, Nulton Diagnostics and Treatment Center, and the Primary Health Network.

Founding dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine Dr. Miko Rose was ecstatic to welcome all four medical providers to the network.

Drs. John Roth and Bruce Thomas with Broad Top Area Medical Center were on hand for the signing. Roth said working with IUP will help tackle issues in the healthcare field.

Thomas was eager to have students getting valuable experience with their doctors.

Dr. Brian Stratta with Hyndman Health Care Center said this was a great opportunity to reinvest in local healthcare across the state.

Drs. Larry Nulton and Aileen Oandasan with Nulton Diagnostic and Treatment Center signed their affiliation with IUP. Oandasan said they are focusing on growing mental health awareness.

Dr. George Garrow with The Primary Health Network was impressed with IUP’s approach to in-person healthcare.

The four facilities join Punxsutawney Area Hospital and IRMC in the affiliation agreement. No date has been set for when the college will open.
