After three days of work at S&T Bank Arena, ballon artists from around the world are ready to show off their craft in The Big Balloon Build to benefit the United Way of Indiana County.
Artists have been working at the S&T Bank Arena since Monday inflating, lashing together, and bending 150,000 to 200,000 balloons into several different shapes, landscapes and even people and animals. The event has brought ballon artists from all over the world to create sculptures around the theme of Jimmy Stewart and Indiana County. Denise Chresos of the Flower and Balloon Gallery of Indiana is the host for the event and she said this display will be the most immersive balloon build ever.
The event is being held as part of the kickoff weekend for the It’s A Wonderful Life Festival and will also raise funds for the United Way of Indiana County. The event starts tonight with a VIP reception at S&T Bank Arena before it opens at 7:00 PM tonight. The display will also be open from 8 AM to 10 PM tomorrow and Saturday, and on Sunday from 10-4 and 7-9 PM, with a special 21 and up private event from 5-7 on Sunday. A balloon popping party will be held Monday afternoon.
