Fire crews had to return to the scene of a house fire yesterday as that fire rekindled.
The fire was originally reported on Coleman Road in Conemaugh Township, with Saltsburg and Tunnelton fire department called in as they were wrapping up with a vehicle accident about a half-hour earlier on Route 286 West. They would be joined by Iselin-West Lebanon, Slickville and Bell Township fire departments along with Lifestat EMS. The house was fully involved when crews arrived. One man was able to escape by jumping out of a second story window. He had minor injuries and was treated by EMT’s and was eventually taken to a nearby hospital. A woman who lived at the house was not home at the time.
Crews from Saltsburg and Tunnelton were called out at 11:13 last night as the embers warmed up enough to rekindle the remnants.
Fire marshals said they were unable to determine the exact cause of the fire due to the damage to the structure. They did determine that the fire was accidental in nature.
