UPDATE: IFA Assistant Chief Bob Henry said that the driver had a medical emergency and his vehicle crashed into a parked car, but missed hitting a utility pole. Citizens’ Ambulance crews tended to the driver until he was able to be taken to IRMC for further treatment.
A portion of Chestnut Street was closed for about a half-hour, reopening around 7:50 this morning.

Indiana Fire Association members are on the scene of a vehicle accident this morning.
Indiana County 911 reported the vehicle crash at 7:14 this morning on Chestnut Street in Indiana Borough. Scanner reports say the crash happened near the intersection of Chestnut and North Carpenter Avenue as two vehicles collided. One vehicle went into a pole after initial impact. One person was reportedly unconscious and crews needed to extricate someone as well.
