Roger Lynn Edder, 74, of Rochester Mills, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
A son of the late Roy Glenn Edder, Jr. and Janet Marie (Jones) Edder, Roger was born Sunday, March 26, 1950, in New Kensington.
Roger was a 1969 graduate of Kiski Area High School and attended the Philadelphia College of Bible. He retired from Akers National Roll in Avonmore, where he worked as a machinist. Roger proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He served two tours in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. Roger was a Crew Chief on a C-130 transport aircraft.
Roger was a member of Graystone Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder. He was a former Rescue Captain at the Bell Township Volunteer Fire Department. Roger was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed beekeeping, loved cars and was an avid hunter. Roger was the person everyone would seek help from.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Linda (Bentley) Edder, of Rochester Mills; four children: John “Nick” Edder and wife Jodie, of Vandergrift; Jennifer Bittinger and husband Travis, of Spring Church; Kari Sexauer and husband Jason, of Bridgeport; Jesse Randall, of Philadelphia; three siblings: Sandra Lee McCune, of New Alexandria; Rebecca Wininger and husband Rick, of Scottsboro, AL.; Robert Edder and wife Mildred, of New Philadelphia, OH; four grandchildren: Emma, Noah, Levi and Emerson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Edder.
Friends and family will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana, with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating. Interment will be in West View Cemetery, Avonmore.
