An Allegheny County man was sentenced for charges connected with an incident in November 2022.
Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi said 45-year-old Ryan Spence of Pittsburgh will serve four years of probation and nine months of house arrest for a misdemeanor charge of corruption of minors. Spence will also complete sex offender registration as another part of his sentence.
State police received a report that Spencer placed his hands down the pants of a sleeping minor in the house he was staying at, and the child reported it to a parent immediately. An investigation was conducted, which included the use of forensic evaluations through the CARE Center of Indiana County, and Spence was charged following it.
Manzi said in a statement the victim “bravely confronted [Spence] and told trusted adults what happened.” He also hopes the child can “close this chapter of their life knowing their strength.”
