Faculty and coaches at the Lock Haven campus of Commonwealth University are scheduled to take a no confidence vote concerning their university president.
President Bashar Hanna is facing criticism after a wrongful termination lawsuit filed concerning the firing of former Bloomsburg University Dean Jeffrey Krug. He claimed that he was the subject of retaliatory actions and ultimately was fired for helping an administrative assistant file a sexual harassment report against Hanna in 2017. The lawsuit awarded Krug $3.9 million. Last month, APSCUF president Dr. Kenneth Mash said in a statement that this issue along with financial woes, declining enrollment, hiring issues, major technical failures, various leadership crises and lowering morale should give reason for Hanna to resign or to be fired.
APSCUF’s Lock Haven Chapter’s executive council voted last month to send the vote to chapter members. Union President Dr. Kenneth Mash has also asked the Commonwealth University Council of Trustees to hold a no-confidence vote as well. The vote among faculty and coaches will be held in early February.
