Indiana County’s Drug task force raided a home in Ernest Borough last month and found a large marijuana growing operation.
Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi said members of the task force executed a search warrant on November 15th on the home of Andrew Clemons on 3rd Street and found 140 illegal marijuana plants, and marijuana stored in two garbage bags, 10 other bags, two five gallon buckets and four sealed metal cans. It was estimated that the home had about 100 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $200,000.
They also found $5100 in cash, items used in the growth process, and documentation of marijuana sales.
The task force also said that the operation was being run while a five-year-old child lived there. The home was in a deplorable state and harmful chemicals and drugs were well within reach of the child.
Charges are pending the results of lab tests.
