A dominant second half led the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders to their fifth PIAA 1A championship as they downed Port Allegany, 41-22. The Marauders held the Gators to zero passing yards in the game while posted 303 yards of total offense.
Running back Taurean Consiglio scored four touchdowns and rushed the ball 15 times for 161 yards. Hamilton Gates posted 100 yards on seven carries with a touchdown. He also went 1-for-1 passing with a 27-yard touchdown.
Bishop Guilfoyle’s path to the state championship started with a District 6 title win over Heritage Conference representative Northern Cambria just a few weeks ago.
Central Clarion, who knocked Heritage Conference champion Cambria Heights out in the first round of states, takes on Troy for the double-A championship tomorrow afternoon.
