The proposed college of osteopathic medicine at IUP has another agreement in place for clinical training with an area medical facility.
On Wednesday, the university formalized a clinical training affiliation agreement with Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. This is similar to agreements signed with Punxsutawney Area Hospital, Indiana Regional Medical Center and other facilities to provide real-world training in years three and four of a student’s education.
The ceremony was held at Conemaugh Memorial with IUP president Dr. Michael Driscoll and founding dean of the college Dr. Miko Rose representing IUP and Conemaugh Memorial President and CEO Dr. Rodney Reider and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Elizabeth Dunmore representing the hospital.
