UPDATE: As of 7:50 this morning, all but three Penelec customers and every REA Energy Cooperative member affected by the outage had power restored.
WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED
Power outages have been reported in White and Center Townships this morning due to some lines going down along Oakland Avenue.
Indiana Fire Association was called out at 4:42 this morning for the report of lines down along Oakland Avenue/Route 286. Those wires have since been moved from the road, but this leaves a long stretch of Oakland Avenue from the intersection with Warren Road to past the Hilltop Baptist Church. Penelec reports 2,336 of its customers are without power right now in White Township, with 27 outages reported in Indiana Borough and 32 in Center Township. REA Energy reports 1102 outages in White Township and another 284 of its cooperative members in Center Township are without power.
Power is expected to be restored by 8:00 this morning at the latest, but that time could change depending on the complexity of the repairs needed.
