Thomas Richard Oswald, 82, Homer City, died December 12, 2024 at Scenery Hill Manor. He was the son of the late Andrew and Nellie L. (Gobesky) Oswald and was born June 9, 1942, in Indiana, PA.
Thomas was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish and served as a lector for many years. He was a longtime member of Coral-Graceton Sportsman’s Club.
He enjoyed following local sports events and attending IUP games with Bob, Walt, Ed, Robert, and Paul, and he appreciated his friendship and companionship with his special friend, Lois.
Thomas graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1965. He taught chemistry in the Indiana Area School District. After teaching for ten years, he returned to IUP and became an accountant. He then obtained a position with Indiana County Children and Youth Services as their accountant. He served in that position for 21 years and retired in December 1999. While working at Indiana County Children and Youth, Thomas met his good friend, David Harper. After his retirement, he was involved in self-employed Tax and Payroll Accounting Services.
Thomas was also the owner of Herbalicious Shoppe in Mt. Pleasant, PA. A special thanks to Joanne Prosnik for managing Herbalicious for over 20 years.
Thomas is survived by several cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral Site on Wednesday, December 18 at 11 AM. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Please visit bowserfh.com to sign the online guestbook.
