Over $1.6 million in grant money has been distributed among post-secondary schools throughout Pennsylvania, including IUP, to help combat sexual assault on campuses.
The money is through the “It’s On Us” program, which is aimed at making campuses safe and inclusive for all students. The national campaign had a goal of raising awareness about sexual assault, teaching participants that sexual assault includes non-consensual sex, helping them identify dangerous situations and empowering people to intervene and create a supportive environment for victims and survivors.
IUP is one of 44 institutions that received funding from the Department of Education. They will receive $40,000.
