Troopers are searching for a missing New Derry man whose vehicle was found unoccupied in Derry Township, Westmoreland County. Troopers do not suspect foul play.
John J. Dofollo, 63, was reported missing by family members and has not returned home.
He is described as a white, non-Hispanic male, 5’11” tall and 185 lbs. with brown eyes and short, gray hair.
He was last seen on February 2 at approximately 12:30 p.m. wearing an orange hooded sweatshirt and khaki cargo pants.
Dofollo is known to fish and hike in the Derry Township area.
On February 5, following a ping of Dofollo’s cell phone, Dofollo’s vehicle was located and found parked in a gravel parking lot along Westinghouse Road.
The vehicle was unlocked and Dofollo’s cell phone was found inside the vehicle. With assistance from the Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department bloodhound team, a search of the surrounding area was conducted with negative results.
Earlier today, the search resumed with assistance from the Pennsylvania Game Commission. The Pennsylvania State Police Aviation Patrol Unit is also conducting an aerial search along the Conemaugh River area.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of John J. Dofollo is asked to immediately contact 911.
