A winter weather advisory remains in place until 10 AM for most of Indiana County.
The freezing rain that came through last night has made road conditions very slick. PennDOT trucks were out yesterday pre-treating some of the roads with salt brine to get a head start on thawing the road out. National Weather Service officials say that the freezing rain that has gone through may have an impact on this morning’s commute, so you may want to allow yourself some extra time this morning.
Meanwhile, an ice storm warning remains in effect for the upper elevations of the southeast corner of Indiana County until 10 this morning. Not only will the roads be slick, but National Weather Service officials say power outage and tree damage are likely due to the icy conditions. Travel could be nearly impossible on untreated roads.
After this morning, though, things are expected to get unseasonably warm. A check of your Accuweather forecast is coming up.
