White Township Supervisors continued discussing the county EMS authority ordinance at their meeting Wednesday afternoon.
The ordinance was rejected by White Township last month as supervisors wanted to explore other options for handling emergency services. Supervisor Sandi Gillette said the best option would be to maintain their agreement with Citizens’ Ambulance and eliminate a middle entity, as it would cost less and it would allow the township to help smaller municipalities.
Gillette supported her statement by citing potential issues with providing non-emergency help to Armstrong County, local sporting events, and even to township residents.
Supervisors will continue discussions within the next few weeks.
In other business, Supervisors opened the public comment period for the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance. It will be available for review for 45 days and comments can be made to the township office.
