A car was destroyed by a fire Thursday morning in Cherryhill Township.
Township firefighters were summoned to Route 422 East, approximately one mile west of the Chestnut Ridge exit shortly after 10 a.m. after the engine in a small Chevy sedan caught fire. Assistant Chief Junior Sabo said the fire spread to the passenger side of the vehicle, but the driver was able to get out unharmed.
Sabo adds a passerby allowed the driver to stay in their car while waiting for crews to arrive.
The car was a complete loss and the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
