UPDATE at 12:30 PM: One person was confirmed dead after a crash this morning in Armstrong Township.
Indiana County 911 sent Indiana Fire Association, State Police and the county coroner to the intersection of Route 422 and Cheese Run Road Southwest of Shelocta. State police on scene confirmed two vehicles were involved and one person was dead on their arrival. The victim’s name has not been released.
While they would not release specific details on the accident, State Police said speed may have been a factor in the crash. Accident reconstruction teams have been called in to investigate.
Route 422 between Cheese Run Road and Parkwood Road will be closed for several hours to complete the investigation.
WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED:
Officials with the Indiana County Coroner’s Office are at the scene of a fatal accident in Armstrong Township.
Indiana County 911 dispatched Indiana Fire Association to the area near Martin Diesel between Cheese Run Road and Trim Tree Road around 11:15 this morning. Few details are available but fire officials say the road is shut down in both directions.
