Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi has issued a statement on the sentencing of a sexually violent predator.
52-year-old William Piper of Kittanning was ordered to serve between eight and 40 years in state prison for two counts each of sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault of a child and indecent assault of someone under 13 along with a single count of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a child on Friday. The victim had informed police that he assaulted her on two separate occasions between 2001 and 2007. Charges were filed in February of 2024 and he pleaded guilty last November.
Manzi applauded the victim for having the courage to come forward and confront Piper. He said that “Due to the victim’s courage…and the thorough investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police, this sexually violent predator won’t be off supervision until he is 95 years old.”
