Indiana County is expected to receive plenty of warm weather this week, and while that may be good for outdoor activities, residents are reminded that the risk of brush fires is still high.
Ernest Borough enacted a burn ban “until further notice” last Thursday and several fire departments have requested that residents refrain from burning to lessen the risk of fires.
Accuweather reports Indiana County could reach up to 70 degrees by the end of the week with rain making an appearance over the weekend. It’s also worth noting that one ember falling onto dry brush could ignite a fire and persisting winds could cause it to spread quickly.
