Spirit Airlines is adding a new destination to flights offered out of Arnold Palmer Regional. An airport spokesperson has confirmed that the discount airline will be making two trips a week from Latrobe to Fort Lauderdale, Florida beginning in May.
Service to Fort Lauderdale from Arnold Palmer was suspended in 2022 after Jet Blue Airways initially purchased Spirit for $3.8 billion, but that merger was rejected by a federal judge in January 2024 after they ruled it would violate federal anti-trust laws and substantially lessen competition.
Spirit is also adding flights to Myrtle Beach starting in May.
