SIX ACRES OF LAND IN GRANT TOWNSHIP CHARRED BY BRUSH FIRE

The 11^th brush fire of the year in Indiana County destroyed several acres of land in Grant Township Monday afternoon.

Indiana County 911 initially dispatched Marion Center, Commodore and Clymer firefighters to a home along Pickering Run Road shortly before 2 o’clock, with Plumville Fire Department and Citizens’ Ambulance called to assist a short time later and Creekside firefighters called for standby detail.

Gavin Misko with the Marion Center Fire Department said the homeowner was burning trash on the property and the fire wiped out approximately six acres of land and a small utility shed. No damage was done to the home and no injuries were reported.
