The Steelers underwent a huge makeover yesterday, but they still do not have a starting quarterback.
The team agreed to a contract with six-time Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay, contingent on his impending release by the Philadelphia Eagles. They also agreed to contracts with former Ravens linebacker Malik Harrison and their own backup center, Ryan McCollum. They made a free agent tender offer to running back Jaylen Warren, meaning he can negotiate with other teams but the Steelers can match whatever he signs.
The Steelers lost quarterback Justin Fields, who signed with the Jets. Running back Najee Harris and cornerback Donte Jackson both signed with the Chargers. Tackle Dan Moore Jr. signed with the Titans, guard James Daniels signed with the Dolphins, and linebacker Elandon Roberts hooked up with the Raiders.
Defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi was released.
Multiple sources reported that the Steelers could sign quarterback Aaron Rodgers as early as this morning.
