One person was hurt in an accident Monday afternoon in Pine Township.
Indiana County 911 sent Pine and Cherryhill Township firefighters and Citizens’ Ambulance to an area along Pineton Road around 4:57 p.m. for what was initially deemed a vehicle accident. Amy Muir with the Pine Township Fire Department said a teenage boy wrecked his dirt bike on some dirt mounds in the area and they landed awkwardly when they jumped one.
The boy was flown to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown after suffering arm and leg injuries. Muir adds getting the boy into the ambulance for transport to the landing zone was the biggest challenge.
Crews were on scene for about an hour.
