An Indiana man was charged with retail theft this past Thursday around 3:18 am.
Indiana Borough Police responded to a report of a man trespassing in a convenience store in the 300 block of Philadelphia Street. Before the police arrived, forty-year-old John Bence fled the scene. It was found that he was served paperwork and given a verbal notice not to enter the store again due to past incidents. It is reported that Bence also consumed merchandise and never paid for it before he left. Bence was charged with trespassing and retail theft through District Judge Sottile’s office.
In another incident, an Indiana man was charged with drug and alcohol related DUI.
Indiana Borough Police conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of church street on January 11th around 1:48 am on a vehicle driven by twenty-six-year-old Jordan Lybarger for summary traffic offenses. During the stop, police discovered that he had consumed alcohol and marijuana to a degree that it was unsafe for him to drive. He was taken into custody and then taken for evidence collection. Afterwards, he was released to a sober adult. Lybarger was charged with drug and alcohol DUI, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and summary traffic offenses through Magistrate Sottile’s office.
