Robert “Bob” Clyde Jobe, Jr., 84, of Indiana, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025, surrounded by his family.
A son of the late Robert C. and Lois (Raybauld) Jobe, Sr., he was born Dec. 27, 1940, in Indiana.
For 38 years, Bob worked as a lineman for REA. He was also known as “Snoop” by his friends at work, one being Ray Nyland who stuck by Bob to the end. He was a union steward and was proud to stand up for his fellow workers and their safety. Bob served in the Army National Guard. He was also a flagger for New Alexandria and Indiana Demo Derby for years. Bob loved spending time with his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. So much so that he taught the Pennsylvania Game Commission Basic Hunting and Trapping Education and was a member of the Hunting and Trapping Association, Indiana Lions Club and the American Legion.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of nearly 64 years, Sarah K. (Stancombe) Jobe, of Indiana; three children: Tracy McCarthy and husband Alan, of Indiana; Terry Jobe, of Uniontown; Tina Grossman and significant other Dan Doyle, of Homer City; son-in-law, Paul Grossman, of Indiana; eight grandchildren: Macy Fenton and significant other Ron Moore, of Tucson, AZ; Sarah Shimko and husband Joey, of Homer City; Robert McCarthy and wife Natalia, of Indiana; Brian Steadman, of WV; Julie Warr and husband Jeremy, of Lucernemines; PJ Grossman, of Indiana; David Walters, of Uniontown; Jaekwon Walters, of Uniontown; five great grandchildren: Jaden Warr, Olivia Shimko, Hadley Shimko, Alex Warr and Joey Shimko; two sisters: Nancy Kensinger and Linda Nipps.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Fannie Stancombe.
Family and friends will be received from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana, PA, with Pastor Dick Motzing officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
The family would like to thank VNA Hospice/ Palliative Care and Dr. Klain for the care they provided for Bob.
