The Penguins are red-hot coming into tonight’s game against the New York Islanders, one of the teams they are chasing for the final Wild Card slot in the Eastern Conference. The Pens are two points behind the Isles and six points out of the second Wild Card, with six teams to pass.
Coach Mike Sullivan says the Pens’ four-game win streak is the result of the players sticking with the system.
Captain Sidney Crosby says the Penguins have the same mindset as last year, when they won 8 of their last 9 games striving for the playoffs.
Defensemen P.O. Joseph and Ryan Shea both skated before practice yesterday with no indication either is recovered enough from their injuries to play tonight.
Faceoff is shortly after 7 o’clock. The pregame on 92.5 FM U92 is at 6.
