Speeding was the main topic of discussion at last night’s Blairsville Borough Council meeting.
Councilman Ab Dettorre said that while the problem is seen throughout the borough, it is most prevalent in the area of Walnut Street, which has heavy truck traffic coming from the quarries.
He said that he would like to see the State Police called in to assist as they have the ability to use radar to track vehicle speeds, something that municipal police across the state do not have access to.
Council also started discussions on a potential ordinance for the raising of chickens within borough limits. Members will be looking at other ordinances to see what can be allowed before making a decision.
