The Indiana University of Pennsylvania has selected Larry Wakefield as the interim Vice President for the school’s division of Administration and Finance.
Wakefield, a native of Knoxville, Tennessee comes to the school after serving as an interim senior vice president for finance and chief financial officer at North Greenville University in Greenville, South Carolina, along with serving at Delta State in Mississippi and Wesleyan College in Georgia. He will serve as a member of IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll’s cabinet and supervise the offices of Human Resources, Public Safety and University Police, Finance, Budget and others.
In a statement, Driscoll said that Wakefield brings a lot of experience to the job, and hopes he will continue the positive momentum IUP has seen in the administration and finance areas. Wakefield takes over for Dr. Debra Fitzsimons, who left the position to become the Chief Financial Officer at Allegheny College in Meadville. A search for someone to take over the position on a permanent basis will start soon, with the hope that the new vice president will start in January of next year.
