William “Bill” L. Pennington Sr., 75, of Marion Center, PA passed away peacefully at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
The son of Charles C. and Betti Jane (White) Pennington, he was born on July 26, 1949 in Spangler, PA.
Bill served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971 earning the rank of SP5.
On August 30, 1969 he married Linda Sue Good and they have shared over fifty-five years of marriage together.
Bill was a jack of all trades. He started in construction at the age of fifteen. Bill drove truck for S.W. Jack Drilling and Mark Sallack. He was a self-employed certified electrician.
He was a member of the Glen Campbell Fee Pennington American Legion Post #435; the John W. Jenks Masonic Lodge Punxsutawney and the Marion Center Fire Company.
Bill loved watching westerns and tinkering in his garage.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Linda; his son Frank Pennington, Sr. and wife Jess of Marion Center, PA; his six grandchildren: Kayla Weige; Frank Pennington, Jr. Kaitlynn Kirkland; Tyler Pennington and wife Hailey; Becca Kirkland and Hailey Pennington; his eight great-grandchildren: Kyleigh; Josh, Kayden: Brooklyn; Atreus; Raymond; Maddie: Waylon and much anticipated great grandchild due in August. Also survived by his siblings: Charles “Butch” Pennington and wife Jane of N.C. and BethAnn Smochek and husband Paul of Punxsutawney, PA and his nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter Kylie.
Family and friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA. Interment will be at the Gilgal Cemetery in Marion Center, PA. Military Honors will be observed.
