The Pirates are making their final roster decisions with Opening Day happening on Thursday in Miami. Yesterday, they traveled to Dunedin, Florida to take on the Toronto Blue Jays. Greg Brown has the recap.(2-1 loss.)

The Pirates on Saturday settled on Endy Rodriguez as the backup catcher and backup first baseman, even though he’s not played there yet in spring training. Jared Triolo will be the first baseman until the return of Spencer Horwitz, who has missed the entire spring because of wrist surgery.
In a surprise move yesterday, the Pirates optioned pitcher Kyle Nicolas to Indianapolis. On Saturday, they sent catcher Henry Davis and infielder/outfielders Billy Cook and Nick Yorke to Indy and designated outfielder Joshua Palacios for assignment.
