Wednesday night, the White Township Supervisors approved applying for a grant to help stabilize McCarthy Run.
Township Manager Chris Anderson said that the $17,500 grant would cover half the cost of the project. He said that there has been some erosion of the small creek outside the township office over the past few years.
Audio PlayerSupervisors were also informed that the White Township Recreation Complex would be the home of Indiana County’s Liberty Tree, which is a part of the upcoming America 250 celebration. One tree will be planted in each Pennsylvania county in honor of the original Liberty Tree planted in Boston Commons before the American Revolution.
