UPDATE: Four fire companies were dispatched last night for a structure fire in Green Township.
Commodore, Marion Center, Clymer and Cherry Tree fire departments would be joined by the RIT team from Hope fire department at 10:19 last night at a home on Starford Road. Commodore fire officials said that the initial reports said the fire was a grease fire in the kitchen that had spread to the cabinets. By the time crews arrived, the blaze was mostly out. Crews were able to finish extinguishing the fire, then pulled the stove out of the building and ventilated the smoke out.
Fire damage was limited to the kitchen and cabinets, but the rest of the house was affected by smoke. A resident was evaluated by EMTs for smoke inhalation but did not require transport to the hospital.
