The Penguins are in Buffalo tonight to close their three-game road trip against the Sabres. They lost the first two games of the trip, to Florida in overtime and to Tampa Bay, and before departing Florida, coach Mike Sullivan put the team through a vigorous practice yesterday.
Evgeni Malkin was on the ice in a non-contact white jersey and Sullivan said it was too soon to say if Malkin would play tonight.
Sullivan says the Penguins and goaltender Tristan Jarry stumbled against the Lightning, but he still likes their approach.
