Today marks a solemn anniversary in American history. On March 29, 1973, the last U.S. troops left Vietnam, and 591 American prisoners of war were released and returned home.
During the Vietnam War era, nine million Americans served, and tragically, 58,000 lost their lives. However, many veterans faced a cold reception upon their return, with some enduring mistreatment due to the public’s negative view of the war.
