Pennsylvania’s Mentored Youth Trout Day is back today, offering young anglers an early chance to fish the state’s stocked trout waters. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Youth participants must have either a free Mentored Youth Permit or a Voluntary Youth Fishing License, which costs just $2.97 and can be purchased online or at licensing agents statewide.
To take part, youth anglers must be accompanied by a licensed adult angler, 16 years or older. Adult anglers will need a valid Pennsylvania Fishing License and a current Trout Permit. Youth anglers can catch up to two trout, with a minimum length of seven inches, but adults are not allowed to possess trout during this event.
It’s a great opportunity for young anglers to enjoy a day of fishing with a mentor. For more details, visit the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission’s website.
