The Penguins skate in St. Louis tonight against the Blues, and Evgeni Malkin is on the road trip. He’s missed the last three games with an upper body injury. The Pens yesterday reached down to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton again, recalling forward Joona Koppanen under emergency conditions as coach Mike Sullivan said a number of Pens forwards are playing with injuries.
Sullivan will get a second chance tonight to see young prospects Rutger McGroarty and Ville Koivunen in action and they both worked in the top six at practice yesterday. The coach liked what he saw in their first game on Sunday.
