Barry Martin “Marty” Duck, 68, of Cherry Tree, PA unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Indiana Regional Medical Center in Indiana, PA.
The son of Louis Budd and Betty Mae (Flynn) Duck, he was born on April 24, 1956 in Spangler, PA.
On June 25, 1977, he married Nancy May Weaver and they have shared almost forty-eight years of marriage together.
Marty was a member of the Calvary Bible Church in Nashville, PA.
He was a small engine mechanic. Marty’s working career included the Arcadia Coal Company; Freeport Lawn and Garden and Strong’s Sales and Service. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a custodian for the Purchase Line School District.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and truly befit the title of jack of all trades.
Marty was a member of the Montgomery Twp. Rod & Gun Club. He loved hunting and fishing and sharing these interests with his grandkids. He will be fondly remembered for being a good husband, Dad and Pappy, a man who could always be counted on.
He is survived by his wife Nancy; his two daughters: Lesa Young and husband Stewart of Coolspring, PA and Jennifer Purcell and husband Joshua of Cherry Tree, PA; his grandchildren: Alexis, Logan and Ian Conner and Wyatt, Liam and Stella Mae Purcell; his step grandchildren: Cooper and Spencer Young; his great grandchildren: Maverick; Callan and Savannah; his siblings: Louis B. “Buddy” Duck, Jr. and wife Norma of Cherry Tree, PA; his sister-in-law: Vera Duck of Punxsutawney, PA; his numerous nieces and nephews; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law on the Weaver side of the family.
Marty was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Delbert “Mick” Duck and Gary Lee Duck.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2025 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA. An 11:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025 at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Brady officiating.
Interment will take place at the Thompson Cemetery in Hillsdale, PA.
